The Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission approved the final draft master plan with the addendum listed below, at their September 17, 2009, meeting.

| What Are the Next Steps? |
|
The master plan will be going through state rulemaking amendment and local land-use approval processess this summer.
A Rulemaking Hearing is scheduled for:
July 20, 6:00 p.m.

A Grant County Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for:
August 19, 7:00 p.m.
Canyon City Courthouse
Canyon City, OR
The department is seeking land-use approval through a conditional-use permit for the concepts in the master plan.
The park is scheduled to officially open in late summer or early fall, 2011.
A portion of the campground, day use area, and some trails are expected to be completed for the park opening.
